Get Fighting Fit, Develop Self-Confidence and Learn Life Changing Martial Arts Skills

West Coast Academy of Martial Arts (WCAMA) is a family oriented, professionally managed self defence school. We teach realistic self defence techniques to help our students develop confidence and skills for real-life situations. We offer programs for children and adults of all fitness and skill levels, including both beginner and advanced classes to accommodate different levels of experience.

Adult Classes

Our adult Self Defence program focuses on practical self defence skills, building confidence, and fitness. Students learn a range of striking and ground fighting techniques that are taught in the context of self defence (not sport) .

We offer beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) classes for adults 16+ taught by Head Instructor Rodney Parkes, affiliated with John Will, Australia's first BJJ black belt.

Juniors & Teens
Martial Arts Classes

Our children's martial arts program builds confidence and self defence skills against bullies and attackers. Students learn techniques like protective falling, takedowns, and escape methods, along with situational awareness. The program also focuses on character building, teaching confidence, self-discipline, and the 7 Virtues of the Bushido code: respect, courage, honour, compassion, honesty, loyalty, and integrity.
