West Coast Academy of Martial Arts (WCAMA) is a family focused, professionally run Self Defence school. We teach realistic self-defence, equipping our students with the confidence and the skills to be able to protect themselves in a real life situation.
We provide programs for both children and adults at all fitness and skill levels. We offer both Beginners and Advanced Classes to cater for the varied experience and skill levels within our school.

Our adult program focuses on teaching practical self-defense, while building confidence and fitness to equip our adult’s students to live fitter, safer and happier lives.
Students learn fighting stances, ground fighting, striking, kicks, boxing combinations, protective falling techniques, take-downs, choke escapes, joint lock holds and grab escapes. They will also benefit from developing important skills such as self-discipline, situational awareness and improving fitness and conditioning.
We also run beginners BJJ and MMA Classes for adults 16+, our program is affiliated with John Will under the Will Machado Jiu Jitsu Banner. The program is taught by our Academy's Head Instructor Rodney Parkes as he continues to train with his own coaches Paul Marston (Sozokan) and John Will (Redcat).
