Our children’s martial arts program aims to equip our younger students with the confidence and the skills to protect themselves from a bully or an attacker.

They learn protective falling, takedowns and throws, ground defense and number of grab and choke escapes.

Our students learn these as drills and under pressure so that they are able to apply them in a real life situation. We also teach our students about situational awareness, stranger danger and protective behaviors.

However, our programs are not just about teaching our students how to defend themselves.

They are also focused on character building and developing important life skills including confidence and self-discipline. Research shows that confident children who look in control and know how to handle themselves are much less likely to be targeted as a victim of bullying or assault.

Our students learn respect for their instructors, training area and fellow students through learning and following dojo etiquette.

They are also expected to uphold the 7 Virtues of the Bushido code (respect, courage, honour, compassion, honesty, loyalty & integrity) as part of their training and in their everyday life.
